HIV ACADEMY: Series 1_

The genesis of the inaugural HIV Academy emerges from the loss in 2020 of one-on-one conversations which present at educational meetings. The Academy brings you an up close and personal series from national and international experts sharing their stories and insights into their practice in HIV medicine.

Professor Jürgen Rockstroh from Bonn presents the importance of clinical guidelines in modern HIV management. Associate Professor Darren Russell living in Cairns explores innovative ways getting to zero in regional and remote communities. Clinical immunologist Dr Mina John discusses why considerations of long-term safety associated with antiretroviral therapy are important in HIV management and care. An early career in London to his life in Sydney, Professor Don Smith looks at the importance of resistance, how it builds and what you should do about it. Dr Vincent Cornelisse discusses the ways his clinic is taking on the challenges experienced by those living with HIV in marginalised communities. As many people living with HIV continue to live longer and fuller lives, Queens (NY) based infectious diseases specialist Dr Sorana Segal-Maurer explores what it takes to ensure her patients are thriving not just surviving.

Each episode is a unique lens on HIV medicine, past and current practices and what more is to be done for PLWH.
